About Blue Dojo
Jayesh is a London-based Sustainable Design Consultant specializing in denim and casual bottoms for both ladieswear & menswear.
An accomplished technical designer, he is highly regarded by global brands, mills, and suppliers for his contributions to sustainable denim practices in fabric development, garment manufacturing, and advanced washing.
Jayesh’s passion for denim dates back to weekends and summer holidays spent immersed in his family’s denim business, Fashionwear Manufacturers Ltd., which was the UK’s foremost garment manufacturers in denim for leading brands such as Next, M&S, George Asda, Paul Smith, Jack Wills, Hackett, Rapha to name but some.
His experiences growing up within the family business contributed to a 360° understanding of the denim industry. After graduating from De Montfort University with a degree in Fashion Design, Jayesh returned to his family business to design garments for the UK high street, catwalk brands, and heritage brands.
In 2015, Jayesh joined one of the UK‘s biggest retailers, F&F Tesco, as a design manager across ladieswear and menswear. Working alongside a dynamic team of designers and suppliers, he was involved in the launch of F&F Tesco’s sustainable jeans - a first-of-its-kind offering in the supermarket retail space.
In 2019, he was invited to share his experience on behalf of F&F Tesco at the Kingpins Show in Amsterdam. Speaking alongside panelists representing the Conscious Fashion Campaign, United Nations, and Lee Jeans, Jayesh cemented his status as an industry expert.
Jayesh has shared his expertise with fashion students across the UK, lecturing at leading institutions such as the London College of Fashion, Birmingham City University, and De Montfort Leicester.
An avid traveler, Jayesh enjoys seeking trend and design inspiration at global trade shows, such as the annual Kingpins Show, Denim PV, and Denim Expo. Through his travels, he has cultivated lasting relationships and joined a collective of brands and individuals dedicated to raising awareness surrounding sustainable practices.
Jayesh attributes his success in the industry to the close network he has developed with global and well-known brands, manufacturers, mills, and laundries. His decades of experience, combined with his passion for innovation and technology, have propelled him to launch his sustainable design consultancy, Blue Dojo, in 2020.
